A one touch quick lock mechanism makes it easy to attach or detach the 430ex ii from the camera and a metal foot is added for strength and durability. Flash controls can now also be set through the LCD screen on compatible EOS Digital SLR cameras. The Speedlite 430ex ii is also quieter, the recycle time is 20 percent faster and since it is compatible with Canon’s wireless E-TTL, it can be used as an affordable “slave unit.”

I use this external flash unit with my Canon Rebel xTi. The flash does a great job calculating the amount of light it needs to release to expose the photo, making grossly over exposed or underexposed photos a thing of the past.
